Another One (Inside the Shell) on Sheet Music

Nice contrasts between colors and good abstraction, but to me imho the background is killing your art, did you print the music sheet in the watercolor paper?i fell it kinda steals attention from what should be the focus point. im not an expert but for works i have had the luck to put my eyes on , the purpose of drawing/painting over a "unconventional" surface is to take advantage of its textures, irregularities and imperfections, those beautiful imperfections that when meet by the artist create something even more beautiful. Besides Loui Jover there was an artist (whose name i don't remember ) that paints birds over rustic pieces of wood and the result is just wow.
Your work is amazing as always (I'm an amateur but also a big fan) but i think it could be better, maybe trying with a bit more saturated colors, or a bit less saturated print for the background.
