another experiment mixing oil and watercolor on canvas, I think I finally found a way to feel comfortable using oils. :)

The use of watercolor and oil mix, has created a wonderful effect, the eyes created an traumatising yet full hard hitting emotional experience, the colors used in the eyes brings sorrow and fear into those eyes, and the use of detailed lines around the eyes has created a realistic yet abstract boldness into the character. This wonderful piece has shown the aesthetic human mind and creativity. The colors almost perfectly blend together,
the bits of color and detailed and such accurate lines has finalized the posture and expression of the artwork, Well done Agnes, looking forward to seeing more of your artworks.

This has to be my absolute favourite work of yours, the colour pallette is so wonderfully unsual and subtle but at the same time it really jumps out at you, I love the eyes :D

Looks amazing! D: Could you explain your process? I'm an art student and I plan to learn watercolor next year but this semester is supposedly on oil. It's got the watercolor look I love though! D:

As everyone else is saying - have I mentioned I love the way you do eyes? I feel like there's depth in them - this person seems sad but in a constrained kind of way - they're trying to hide it. (Or maybe they're asking if it's okay to cry?)

I really love this piece. The detail on the eyes forces you to zoom right in. It works really well as contrast to the lose face and unfinished negative space. Love that one drip down the neck. Makes the viewer question whether the subject is crying or if it was artist technical/style choice (which i have notice it becoming more popular). It Is a striking piece. Id like to see more like this.

Absolutely incredible! I don't see much that I think deserves to be on the front page much anymore. Most of what I see are a bunch of fanart that really takes no talent but I do enjoy this piece greatly! Well-deserved.

Interesting. Did you go over the oils with watercolor, or the more usual way the other way around? I like the effect in the eyes for sure. I often underpaint with watercolors or acrylics. Nice job here.

I have to disagree with the prior comment, I find it very appealing that there is so much white in the painting. It brings out the eyes even more, they become more intense and vibrant. It has something of the feeling one gets when staring at one's face in the mirror until everything except the eyes starts to blur.
I really enjoy this painting, bravo!

I absolutely adore how the detail fades the further from the eyes it gets. there's just enough information, and no more and the way you've off centered it helps add a great deal of interest. Love Love Love it.
