I really liked the film you made to this painting and how you begin your work. The choice of colours is great, though the hair could have gotten a bit more darkness to it. The hair is all over, perhaps that is meant to be, or not. But if you decide of a direction the motion and flow of the hair will be more harmonic to look at. It is a good angle of the face, though there is something more needed to convince me of the angle, perhaps exaggerate the eyes a bit more. I really like how you started out your painting and I shall try it out myself.
well done! this is an other great work (particullarly it is my favorit) the lips, nose and eyes are really expressive and the hair are wonderfull, a lot of movement. your use of this white backgrounds permits to put at the first level your subjects. usually the white backgraound gives a sence of unfinished and, in watercolurs, plays a diffucult role in balancing the light/shadows, but in your case I think that the subjects of your works are full of light despite the light from the back. I'm curious to see one of your figure with a coloured backgroubn (I don't know if you have one on DA). ciao, e: bravissima
I think that the flow of the hair actually has a direction: the wind is blowing from the lower left corner. The expression of the young woman's face is priceless, well captured. One could almost feel the wind on her face. The white background and colour of hair seems to me like a subjective thing. I would have personally preferred the background to have a story line as well, or alternatively to intensify the main subject via the addition of colour. But I completely see why someone would consider this painting a complete work of art in its own right.
