It's simple, yet I love it. It might be a quick sketch, but there's still detail there, and emotion. The detail in the lips and nose still stand out and show skill, and the colours emphasize the shading skills. The vibrant colours really stand out for me in this piece though, due to the fact they represent the explosion of emotion through the key element; the eyes. I think the removal of the eyes does create quite a surreal atmosphere which is effective. But like you said, this is just a simple sketch, yet it still is brilliant and I really enjoy it. Well done.
