Very good movement. From the figure's face, following his gaze down around the box shape to his arms (which by themselves are a feast for the eye), up the other side of the box and back to the face again. Splendid! I do have a beef, however, so I'm not just brown-nosing this critique: on the right where the corner of the box meets the edge of the piece. This creates some tension and it bothers me (art school has brainwashed me to be bothered by these moments of visual tension). If it was your intention all along to create tension, then job well done. The corner of that box could either be off the page like it is on the left side, or there could be some space between it and the edge, just enough room to breathe. There's my respectful 2 cents. Overall it is awesome and wonderfully done. Hope this helps.
As always, magnificent work, simply beaut...i....f...u...l !!!! now about the work first of all, in most of your paintings there will be always something that steal my attention, here it turns out to be the his hand and the box now what i think about the painting is, the person in the box represents each and every person in the world, every single person in this world has to struggle to become successful in this world. now the inscriptions on his hand, "the map", is the only way out which will result in his/her success the painting is trying to tell that "the map" is a part of who we are, our each and every actions and its possible outcomes are what the lines depict what we have to do is to figure out what we have to become and chose the right path to get out of the box and become successful on the contrary, if we chose the wrong path we'll continue struggling and will fail to achieve success.......we'll be stuck in the box living in misery not knowing what we've become
This is really cool. It makes me think of the saying 'think outside the box'. I really like how his arms are darker because it accents the 'map'which I think looks like cracks in glass. I like his expression as well, it seems like he's really thinking about a choice unmade.
