Vision: I rated this four stars out of five, because although this is really good, it has a look of being unfinished. That may have been the artist's intention, but I would have personally liked to see more of the neck/collarbone/side of face. If this displeases you, I apologize, it's only an opinion. Originality: This artist uses dripping watercolors (is that even a technical term?) really nicely in her other works, but I think it works best right here. I gave it only a four out of five just because it tends to be a common idea. Technique: I love what you can do with watercolors... It's missing 1/2 a star only because the nose is a bit funny. But noses always are. Damn noses. Impact: This painting has a five star overall impact. The expression on her-his (this is gender neutral!) face is very interesting. At first look, I thought it to be a "I want you" look, but the tear and raised eyebrow convey different emotions. This person is a complicated individual, as are we all.
beautiful... I love the clean, simple look to it. The colors are beautiful and the angle to the face is awesome. I love the paint coming down from the eye like a tear, it gives it emotion. I feel like this piece has something more to it than it shows. its an interesting painting, what you see is not always what you get. it surprises me how something so simple can be this beautiful and elegant. this is the first thing in my inbox to catch my eye today, it was the first thing I clicked on! keep up the great work.
